Turtle Mountain

Max depth: 30m++ / 100ft++ General profile: 18 m /60ft for 20 min;         13 m /45ft for 30 min

Turtle Mountain consists of three pinnacles just outside the barrier reef directly in front of the Point. These loose standing pinnacles are covered in purple soft corals and sea whips on the one side and have several overhangs and ledges which form a resting place for turtles – hence the name! These turtles range in size from 40cm/18in to 150cm/5ft and often have remoras hitching a ride on their bellies. Shallow caves host squirrel fish and moray eels. Large schools of blue trevally, barracudas and unicorn fish are usually seen on this dive. You may even be lucky enough to see a hammerhead shark or two cruising in the mild current.
